Join NAFIS
There are three types of NAFIS members:
Regular Members:
“Local Education Agencies” (as defined in the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965) that pay the regular NAFIS membership dues. Dues are based on a percentage of the Impact Aid funding your school district receives. The school district is the member, allowing multiple school district representatives to take advantage of NAFIS benefits including our newsletters and conference member rates.
Associate Members:
Interested individuals and organizations which pay the subscription membership dues and which are not an LEA or an employee of an LEA.
Emeritus Members:
An honorary status granted by NAFIS to longstanding, dedicated individuals who have retired or moved on from their primary roles employed by a NAFIS member school district but whose expertise and involvement remain valuable to the NAFIS organization. This status serves to honor their contributions while the organization continues to benefit from their institutional knowledge. Download our FAQs to learn more about emeritus membership.
The emeritus membership application period opens May 1! Be on the lookout for our online Google form to apply. You will be notified of your application status following the NAFIS Board meeting in July 2026.
