Began consolidation of email lists to better target the new electronic-only IMPACT newsletter.

Discussed revamping membership dues collection systems to better streamline process. 

Conducted national staff efficiency survey to assess and refocus changing responsibilites.

Drafted and emailed latest NAFIS News to members who've supplied email addresses.

Held Fall Conference 2008 planning meeting to continue work on logistics.

Discussed follow-up with school district members with outstanding/unpaid purchase orders.

Provided over 20 school districts calculations on their final fiscal year 2005 payments and fiscal year 2007 adjustments to their 8003 payments.

Assisted two Section 8002 districts  in determining the status of their 2005 payments.

Responded to questions from two school districts on how to determine their FY2009 payments.

Assisted Representative Robin Hayes' staff with school construction language to be included in legislation they wished to introduce.

The National Association of Federally Impacted  Schools (NAFIS) is a non-proft, non-partisan corporation of school districts from throughout the United States, organized primarly to educate Congress on the importance of Impact Aid.  Founded in 1973, the association works to ensure the needs of federally connected children are met with adequate federal funds. NAFIS represents children residing on Indian Lands, military children, children residing in low-rent housing projects, and children whose parents are civilian but work and/or live on federal property. NAFIS is governed by a board of directors elected from its membership. The association is located in Washington, D.C., with a full time professional staff under the leadership of an executive director.

 
IMPACT Goes All-Electronic
Thanks to all members who recently participated in our online survey regarding the delivery system for our bi-monthly newsletter, IMPACT. More than 60 respondents participated and just over 85 percent of them said they'd prefer to receive our newsletter via email. We are already working on compiling and consolidating member emails in anticipation of our September-October newsletter. Here's where you can help.
